The Morning Blend & The Health Fair
Last Thursday some of my desserts and I were on Tucson's Morning Blend. You can watch at:
On the show, John Reid and I promoted the Health Fair sponsored by the Healthy You Network here in Tucson that took place last Saturday. The turnout was GREAT, and Julieana Hever, the author of "The Idiot's Guide to Nutrition", flew in from LA and spoke at noon to a capacity crowd. She is delightful - so energetic and full of information!
I sold out of Applespice Cupcakes w/Maple Frosting, Pumpkin Cranberry Muffins, Oat Raisin Spice Muffins, Key Lime Uncheesecake, Diabetic-Friendly Brownies, Apricot Date Bars, Tofu Pumpkin Pie w/ Oil-free Oat Crust, -- and Alaine's Rainforest Cake! I also sampled out the Apple Cherry Crisp that I had made for The Morning Blend. I met lots of new people, as well as re-connected with lots of "regulars"; really a wonderful day. A big thanks to everyone who worked to make this day happen, and thank you to all who participated!
Don't you love this time of year? This year is quickly drawing to a close; the holidays are upon us!
And, a reminder: we still have a few seats left for our Greenheart Dining Club Holiday Dinner on Saturday, November 17th. You are welcome to come enjoy a delicious, healthy holiday meal with us on our rustic property on the east side of Tucson, where we have our horses, and there are exotic birds, Ted's vegetable garden - all under a canopy of mesquite trees on the Tanque Verde wash. Email if you would like an invitation.
