Menu for Valentine's & Superbowl Weekend 2/13

 

Dear Green Heart Friends,

Oh the pressure, lol!  This Sunday is the Super Bowl, and Monday is Valentine's Day.  We changed our minds about the 7-Layer Dip, and instead went for some other favorites:  Ted's Boston Baked Beans w/our Potato Salad, and our sausage; also, Mac n'Roasted Vegetables in our Cheez Sauce.

Of course we're heavy on the Valentine's:  it's chocolate and cherries and raspberries and white chocolate!

And here's a picture of the 9" Heart Cake that can be chocolate or carrot cake. (Carrot is frosted in cream-colored vanilla cream cheez frosting.)

As I've joked before:  the day AFTER Valentine's, no one wants a chocolate heart!  But be sure to reserve yours for this Sunday if you'd like one (or two ;-).

“Cream” of Broccoli Soup

Broccoli, potatoes, carrots, onions. (GF, oil-free) $7.50

Frozen:  Roasted Leek & Potato, Southwest Black Bean  $7.

Boston Baked Beans & Potato Salad w/our Sausage

House-made sausage (pinto bean-based) with  Ted’s baked beans, & potato salad (SF, GF, oil in soy-free Vegenaise-based dressing on the potato salad) $12

(Yes, you may order just the potato salad or baked beans)

Mac n’Cheez w/Roasted Veggies

Whole wheat pasta in our cheez sauce, topped with roasted cherry tomatoes, baby bella mushrooms, red bell peppers & sweet onions. ( SF, no oil) $12

*Let me know if you need GF pasta*

 

Nicoise Salad

Our chickpea mock “tuna” on organic greens, with steamed red potatoes, green beans, cherry tomatoes, artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives. Our Ranch dressing on the side (because that’s more fun than vinaigrette ;-) (GF, SF, no nuts) $9.

 

Sandwiches

Chickpea Mock “Tuna”:  8 oz container, or on Dave’s Killer Bread. This is very low fat, as we make the “mayo” (tofu, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, Dijon, agave), and high in fiber and plant protein. $8. (filling is GF, oil-free)

Millet Lentil Loaf: sprouted organic millet & lentils cooked with onion & herbs, then sliced as a loaf. On Dave’s Killer Bread w/our house made cashew cheez and ketchup. $9

Yes, you can order the Millet Lentil Loaf by itself. Small loaf is $12.00

Curried ChickUn Salad: 3 grain tempeh in a dressing of mayo and mango chutney, mixed with celery, raisins & roasted cashews. 8 oz container, or on Dave’s Killer Bread. $9.00 (filling is oil-free)

Seitan Reuben:  house made seitan corned “beef”, sauerkraut, our house made cashew cheez, with our Russian dressing, on organic sprouted rye. $10

 

Healthy Desserts

Chocolate Raspberry Tarts – chocolate crust, chocolate filling, chocolate drizzled over the organic raspberries (GF) $7 *Let me know if you want soy-free*

White Chocolate Berry Tart: In an oat-almond flour crust, 2 layers: first, cooked mixed berry filling, and second, a vegan white chocolate layer of cashews, coconut milk & white chocolate. Garnished with fresh berries. (GF, soy-free) $7

Chocolate Raspberry Hearts: our chocolate cake baked in a heart shape, split, filled with our vanilla frosting tinted pink w/raspberry glaze, topped with raspberry glaze, and trimmed in chocolate frosting. (GF, no added fat) $7

Chocolate Cherry Cake by the slice. (GF, no added oil) $7/slice

Breakfast

Wendy’s Wonder Bars:  made of ripe banana, rolled oats, craisins & almonds – that’s it!  No added sweetner, and very nourishing and filling.  Courtesy of Ted’s sister, Wendy J  (GF, SF, no added fat) $4

Lemon Raspberry  Muffins:  (GF, SF, no added oil) $4.00

Peach Blueberry Scones w/oat flour. (GF, SF) $4.

Chocolate Glazed (baked) Donuts (GF, SF, oil-free, no nuts) 4.00

Banana Walnut 10 oz Loaves, (GF, SF, no added oil) 7.00 This week they will be make w/o tofu in the batter.

Pumpkin Pecan  Loaves 10 oz. (GF, SF, no added oil) 7.00 (will be made w/o silken tofu in batter)

 

Cookies & Bars

Chocolate Peppermint Cookies, 3 in a baggie, $4. (GF, SF). Made of almond flour. These are YUMMY!

*Samoa Cookies* dipped in chocolate; healthy version of the Girl Scout cookies 3 small cookies in container (SF, GF, no nuts) $4.

Meyer Lemon Bars:  set in an organic whole-grain oat flour crust, sweetened with organic birch (diabetic-friendly & low calorie). (GF, no added fat) $5

Magic Bars:  on top of an almond flour crust, layers of chopped dates, pecans, coconut set in coconut milk, and topped with chocolate chips.  (GF, SF, no added fat) $5.
