Menu for Sunday Rillito Park Farmers Market March 6th


Dear Green Heart Friends,

Even though we vendors were to have cleared out this past Sunday by 12:30, it did not happen, and there was no friction between those horse racing bettors and our farmers market crowd 💚.  Nick, our market manager, was pretty jazzed about it as he checked with us at closing (still around 1) to see if we'd been in any fist fights.  jk.  But none reported, nonetheless.

And so we soldier on!  We've been busy as Midtown Market & Deli has been having a very soft opening this past 10 days.  Tanya texts me, and Leila or I rush over with cookies, cake, sandwiches - whatever we can - to support them as they train a crew of 20-somethings to make the deli food, wait on customers, get the glitches out of the POS system, etc.   I chatted with Kathy & Fiore Ianaconne last Sunday afternoon; she had come in to mentor in the kitchen (Fiore claimed he was just the driver, and came for lunch).

Green Heart Menu for March 6th, 2022

Market hours:  8:30 am – 12:30 pm

The market hours are ½ hr earlier due to the horse racing season at the track behind us.

(Please have your order in by Thursday evening.)


 A thick hearty soup of organic red lentils & organic sweet potatoes, with roasted organic garbanzos. Seasoned with fresh ginger & garlic & Indian spices. (GF, SF, oil-free, no onions) $7.50

Frozen:  Cream of Broccoli (GF, no nuts or added oil) $7; Zesty Vegetable w/Posole (GF, no nuts or added oil) $7.

Tempeh Coconut Curry

Fresh organic Brussels sprouts, broccoli, green beans, garbanzos, tempeh, in a coconut milk-based curry, with just the right amount of “spice” (fresh ginger & garlic). Served with organic brown Basmati.

(soy-free, no nuts, no oil) $11.

For GF, request that we leave out the tempeh or we can add bite-size pieces of the millet lentil loaf.

Thai Buddha Bowls

On a bed of tri-color quinoa:  sautéed green beans, button mushrooms, red onion, yellow bells in a veg broth-based sauce seasoned w/lime juice, fresh cilantro, and a touch of chipotle.  For crunch, julienned Napa cabbage, and topped with dry roasted peanuts.  (GF, SF, no added oil) $12.



Curried ChickUn Salad: 3 grain tempeh in a dressing of mayo and mango chutney, mixed with celery, raisins & roasted cashews. 8 oz container, or on Dave’s Killer Bread. $9.00 (filling is oil-free)

BBQ Jackfruit on a “Bun”: Jackfruit dry-sauteed and marinated in our house-made BBQ sauce, with our cashew cheez spread on an Ezekiel English muffin (acting as a healthy bun.) $9.00 (SF, no added oil)

Millet Lentil Loaf: sprouted organic millet & lentils cooked with onion & herbs, then sliced as a loaf. On Dave’s Killer Bread w/our house made cashew cheez and ketchup. (SF, no added fat)

Yes, you can order the Millet Lentil Loaf by itself. Small loaf is $12.00

Seitan Reuben:  house made seitan corned “beef”, sauerkraut, our house made cashew cheez, with our Russian dressing, on organic sprouted rye. $10


Healthy Desserts

Peanut Butter Cacao Truffles (date-sweetened) $2.50 each or 3/$6. (We used dry roasted peanuts – no peanut butter – to keep the oiliness & fat down.)

Chocolate Raspberry Tarts – chocolate crust, chocolate filling, chocolate drizzled over the organic raspberries (GF) $7 *Let me know if you want soy-free*

Fresh Lemon Berry Cake – As many fresh organic berries as possible between lemon layers, with lemon vanilla frosting (GF, no added oil or fat) $7 per slice

White Chocolate Berry Tart: In an oat-almond flour crust, 2 layers: first, cooked mixed berry filling, and second, a vegan white chocolate layer of cashews, coconut milk & white chocolate. Garnished with fresh berries. (GF, soy-free) $7

Organic Apple Hand Pies in org. sprouted spelt crust (SF) $7.00

Cookies & Bars

Wedding Cookies: almond flour, ground walnuts, sweetened with monkfruit/erythritol. $4.

Chocolate Peppermint Cookies, 3 in a baggie, $4. (GF, SF). Made of almond flour. These are YUMMY!

*Samoa Cookies* dipped in chocolate; healthy version of the Girl Scout cookies 3 small cookies in container (SF, GF, no nuts) $4.

Lemon Bars:  set in an organic whole-grain oat flour crust, sweetened with organic birch (diabetic-friendly & low calorie). (GF, no added fat) $5

Magic Bars:  on top of an almond flour crust, layers of chopped dates, pecans, coconut set in coconut milk, and topped with chocolate chips.  (GF, SF, no added fat) $5.
