Easter Sunday at Rillito Park Farmers Market 8 am - Noon

 

Dear Green Heart Friends,

This week Ted will make his pizza instead of a soup; we have frozen soups to choose from.  This pizza will be lighter than his Bean Pizza as it will have our house made sausage with zucchini, mushrooms, and a tomato sauce with herbs.

I will make two types of quiche:  a soy-free organic tomato & caramelized onion w/fresh dill, and the Sun-dried Tomato Asparagus.

For Easter-themed desserts, I mail ordered vegan jelly beans.  They have none of the common allergens, nor artificial colors, so they are somewhat muted, but still "pastels". This is an old photo, with more vibrant colors. You can also see the Easter Bunny Cake.  Instead of the Lemon Berry Cake, I will make Blackberry Lavender.  btw, that's tinted coconut shreds filling in as "grass" :-)

Please remember there will be no menu next week for Sunday 4/24.  We will return to Rillito on May Day (5/1).  We have several special order cakes to make during that week, and hope to ride our horses again before it gets hot.  We've been swamped w/o Cathy's help on Saturdays, supplying Midtown Market, & special orders (always last-minute, creating a "baking emergency" ;-).

Pizza

Ted will be at it again, topping my organic WW pizza crust with the house made sausage, red bell peppers, mushroom tomato sauce, herbs, & zucchini. Topped with soy-free Violife mozzarella. $12 (Soy-free)

 

Tomato & Asparagus Quiche

sun-dried tomatoes, organic asparagus, nutritional yeast, onion, in a sprouted organic tofu-based filling, topped with organic tomato & Follow Your Heart Swiss, in an organic WW crust.

( filling is oil-free; crust is low oil) $9.00/slice

Whole 9” Quiche $35.

Gluten-free option:  GF crust (almond flour base set with flax “egg”),  OR no crust  $9/slice.  Whole 9” GF Crust Quiche $35.

Tomato & Caramelized Onion Soy-free & GF Quiche

Chickpea flour in almond milk form the filling, with onions and organic tomato, seasoned with fresh dill. Topped with SF mozzarella. $9/slice, Whole 9” Quiche $35

Nicoise Salad

Our chickpea mock “tuna” on organic greens, with steamed red potatoes, green beans, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives. Our Ranch dressing on the side  (GF) $9.

Sandwiches

Chickpea Mock “Tuna”:  8 oz container, or on Dave’s Killer Bread. This is very low fat, as we make the “mayo” (tofu, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, Dijon, agave), and high in fiber and plant protein. $8. (filling is GF, oil-free)

Curried ChickUn Salad: 3 grain tempeh in a dressing of mayo and mango chutney, mixed with celery, raisins & roasted cashews. 8 oz container, or on Dave’s Killer Bread. $10. (filling is soy-free)

Seitan Reuben:  house-made seitan corned “beef”, sauerkraut, house-made cashew cheez spread, with our Russian dressing, on organic sprouted rye. $10.

Healthy Desserts

Jelly Bean Cupcakes – Carrot Cake frosted in vanilla tofu-based frosting, topped with vegan jelly beans & green “grass” coconut shreds (photo of these and bunny cake on Facebook page). OR instead of jelly beans, fresh berries on top of the carrot cake cupcake.  $5.

Easter Bunny Cakes – 6-inch Carrot Cake $25.

Blackberry Lavender layer cake by the slice (GF, no nuts, no oil) 7.50

Chocolate Cherry Peppermint Truffles (raw) $2.50 each; 3/$6

Chocolate Peppermint Cookies, 3 in a baggie, $4. (GF, SF). Made of almond flour & monkfruit-sweetened. These are YUMMY! .

Meyer Lemon Bars:  set in an organic whole-grain oat flour crust, sweetened with organic birch (diabetic-friendly & low calorie). (GF, no added fat) $5
