Green Heart Menu for Sunday Sept 25th, 8 am - Noon

BBQ Stuffed Sweet Potato (lentils, jackfruit) w/herbed quinoa

Dear Green Heart Friends,

YES, I will be back this Sunday 9/25!

Everyone is welcome to tell me what they did during (my) summer vacation 😆.  I was sorry to miss the Chili Festival last Sunday (even though I don't eat them).  Kathy and Allan Robbs (Robbs Family Farm, the vendors next to me) caught me shopping in Natural Grocers after they finished Rillito last Sunday, and they told me how busy and festive it was. Mariachis et al.

Ugh, Leila and I have been re-doing costings sheets this summer, trying to calculate what our prices should be (in order to stay in business ;-).  We started with the wholesale prices on items that go to Midtown Vegan Deli.  Fortunately, the price increases we gave Tanya (the owner) did not slow down sales there (and presumably she raised her retail).  When we calculated the cost of ingredients on the Organic Chocolate Brownie Cake, I had to take a break and look again the following week because I got sticker shock.  Ted still has to make that change on our website; we sell more of those cakes than anything else!

And so, you will see some prices have gone up on the menu.  Since you live in the same world we do, you know why.

I really liked the Saag we had last time (7/3), and so James and I will make that again.  Above, you see the picture of the other entree:  Stuffed Sweet Potatoes. Leila, James and I all loved the Saturday we made that, and had it for our lunch/dinner.

Some other time, I may relate the 7-chapter car saga (the one I inherited from my mom that I will sell, and get something more practical). Or not. It's not over yet, anyway.  These are the consequences of "deferring priorities".

We got a new horse last week!!  But no pictures yet, as he is SO thin :-(. I do not want to be reported for abuse/neglect.

Looking forward to a fantastic season!  (Kathy Robbs said I looked so relaxed; well, that won't last! ;-)

Please do your best to send me your order by Thursday night, and I will see you Sunday at Rillito (unless you pick up your order at La Mariposa on know who you are :-)
