Green Heart Menu for 10/9 Rillito Park Farmers Market 9 am - 1 pm

 

Dear Green Heart Friends,

Please note that the Sunday market moves an hour later.  And it seems the HOT summer temps are behind us, and no one is more relieved than I :-)



Thai Tempeh Salad
 
We will have a couple of our most longtime popular items:  our Roasted Veggie Lasagna w/pesto and puttanesca sauce, as well as Ted's Split Pea Soup (w/potatoes, onions, carrots and parsnips).  Both freeze very well.  And if the weather stays cooler, and if it even rains again, I MIGHT even bring the electric soup pot to the market (you know, as if it were actually winter ;-).  If not, you'll take the soup home to reheat.

The Thai Tempeh Salad is "newer", and very tasty.  What I didn't care for in this photo, is that I "buried the organic buckwheat soba noodles with all the veggies, and marinated cooked tempeh.  But the noodles are there!  Hopefully, I will do a better job of arranging this time.

The new Savory Muffin will be back.  And I will be glad when the market really "returns" to the busy way I remember it.  I have a new helper starting the following Sunday, in anticipation :-) And it has been very nice to see you, after a summer with primarily the horses and the cats.

Ted’s Split Pea Soup

Organic green split peas, potatoes, onions, carrots, parsnips. (GF, SF) $7.50

Frozen Soups:  Zesty Veg w/Posole, Southwest Black Bean  $7. (GF, SF)

Thai–Inspired Tempeh Salad

A rainbow of colors:  shredded red cabbage, red bells, orange carrots, green spinach, green onions, with buckwheat soba noodles, and crispy tempeh bites, with a peanut-lime-tamari sauce/dressing.  (organic ingredients, GF, SF, no added oil) $12.

GF Roasted Veggie Lasagna w/Puttanesca Sauce

 Tinkyada organic brown rice lasagna noodles, organic roasted: zucchini, red bells, spinach, broccoli, and a “ground beef” that we make out of lentils and beets.  Our puttanesca sauce, which is a marinara kicked up with capers, shallots, and minced Kalamata olives. Our organic cashew cheez and our organic oil-free pesto.

Topped with a small amount of soy-free mozzarella. (GF, soy-free, no added oil) $13.00.

Sandwiches

Seitan Reuben:  house-made seitan corned “beef”, sauerkraut, house-made cashew cheez spread, with our Russian dressing, on organic sprouted rye. $11.

BBQ Jackfruit on a “Bun”: Jackfruit dry-sauteed and marinated in our house-made BBQ sauce, with our cashew cheez spread on an organic sprouted Ezekiel English muffin (acting as a healthy bun.) $10.00 (SF, no added oil)

Healthy Desserts

Apple Spice Mini-Bundts w/Maple Glaze: Fresh apple, raisins, walnuts with cinnamon, allspice & cloves. (GF, SF, no added oil) $7

Lemon Bars w/oat flour crust, sweetened with xylitol (GF, oil-free) $5

Organic Apple Hand Pie:  gently sweetened with agave, in an organic sprouted spelt crust.  (Soy-free) $7.50

Mixed Organic Berry Tarts (GF, no nuts) 7.50

Raw Truffles:  Chocolate Cherry (pecans, dates, cacao, dried cherries, vanilla, chocolate nibs) 2.50/each; 3/$6

Chocolate Glazed Donuts, baked, topped with sprinkles (GF, SF, no added oil, no nuts)$4.50

Pumpkin Pecan Loaf  (GF, no added oil) $7.50

Banana Walnut 10 oz Loaf  ( GF, SF, no added oil) $7.50

Cookies & Bars

Nutter Butter Cookies: oat flour, maple syrup, peanut butter, vanilla. These are shaped into “peanuts”, and filled with peanut butter blended with Better Than Cream Cheese – so they should be kept cold. They sell very well at Midtown Vegan Deli.  3 filled cookies in a container.  (GF, no added oil) $5.

*Samoa Cookies* dipped in chocolate; healthy version of the Girl Scout cookies 3 small cookies in container (SF, GF, no nuts) $4.50

Oatmeal Applesauce w/Chocolate Chip (SF, GF, no added fat, no nuts) 4.50

Chocolate Chip Pecan (SF, GF) 4.50

Molasses Ginger (GF, no nuts) 4.50
