Green Heart Menu for Sunday 12/18/22 Rillito Park Farmers Market 9 am - 1 pm

 

Dear Green Heart Friends,

Whew!  It's our last farmers market of 2022.  (We are offering Christmas deliveries on Friday 12/23 if you are interested.)  We will return to Rillito Park on Sunday, Jan 15th. (Wedding cake on 12/28, and an elaborate Sponge Bob birthday cake on 1/9.)

Because Leila has been off this week, I will keep this short :-).  Many Rainforest Cakes to mail....

You will find 2 menus attached:  one for Sunday, and the second for Christmas. (just as we did at Thanksgiving)

THANK YOU all so much for your patronage this year.  I had planned to "wow" you with photos of the horses, but it's been overwhelming w/o Leila this week so I won't go back out into the mud and take pictures at this time. I promise I will show them off in the near future. Thank you for helping to keep them in hay, grain, pellets, and Purina Senior Active feed 🐎.

Green Heart MENU for Sunday 12/18

@ Rillito Park Farmers market

Ted’s Split Pea Soup

Green split peas, potatoes, parsnips, onions, carrots. (GF, SF, oil-free) Ted uses lots of herbs. $7.50

Frozen: Southwest Black Bean. (GF, SF, oil-free, nut-free) $7.

 

 GF Roasted Veggie Lasagna w/Puttanesca Sauce

I’m changing it up!  I’ll make the lasagna as I used to make it for my extended family in California:  no eggplant.  The cashew cheez spread we make will be used throughout.  Between the layers of Tinkyada organic brown rice lasagna noodles there will be roasted zucchini, sliced roasted red bells, spinach, broccoli, and a “ground beef” that we make out of lentils and beets.  We will still incorporate our oil-free pesto.  And Ted makes the puttanesca sauce, which is a marinara kicked up with capers, shallots, and minced Kalamata olives.

Topped with a small amount of soy-free mozzarella. (GF, soy-free, no added oil) $13.00.

 

Tomato & Asparagus Quiche

sun-dried tomatoes, fresh asparagus, nutritional yeast, onion, in an organic tofu-based filling, topped with fresh tomato & Swiss cheez, in a WW crust.

( filling is oil-free; crust is low oil) $9.00/slice

W/our potato salad on the side $12.00

Sandwiches

BBQ Jackfruit on a “Bun”: Jackfruit dry-sauteed and marinated in our house-made BBQ sauce, with our cashew cheez spread on an Ezekiel English muffin, masquerading as a healthy bun. $10. (GF, SF, no added oil)

Millet Lentil Loaf: Our sprouted organic millet & lentil loaf, on Dave’s Bread, with our cashew cheez spread & ketchup. $10 (filling is GF, oil-free, SF)

You may also order a small loaf, no bread $13.

Curried ChickUn Salad: 3 grain tempeh in a dressing of mayo and mango chutney, mixed with celery, raisins & roasted cashews. 8 oz container, or on Dave’s Killer Bread. $10.00 (filling is oil-free)

Seitan Reuben:  house made seitan corned “beef”, sauerkraut, our cashew cheez spread, with our Russian dressing, on organic sprouted rye. $11

Christmas Menu 2022

GF Roasted Veggie Lasagna w/Puttanesca Sauce

 Tinkyada organic brown rice lasagna noodles, organic roasted: zucchini, red bells, spinach, broccoli, and a “ground beef” that we make out of lentils and beets.  Our puttanesca sauce, which is a marinara kicked up with capers, shallots, and minced Kalamata olives. Our organic cashew cheez and our organic oil-free pesto.

Vegan “Beef” Wellington

Chickpeas, mushrooms, walnuts, quinoa, onions, minced red bells, herbs & seasonings combine for a loaf baked in puff pastry.  8 -12 servings (soy-free, no oil added to the loaf; fat is in puff pastry) Includes 16 oz Mushroom Gravy $55.00

 

 

 

White Wine Onion Mushroom Gravy, made w/o fat. (Rice milk base) GF  16 oz containers. Flavored with sage and thyme.  I begin by making vegetable  broth from scratch. (Can be ordered w/o mushrooms).  16 oz $10 (our soup-size container)

Garlic Mashed Potatoes:

The mashed potatoes are made without oil/fat: organic Yukon Gold potatoes steamed with garlic cloves and mashed with almond milk.  (soy-free, oil-free, GF) Our soup-size container $11

 

Fresh Cranberry Sauce w/crushed pineapple, fresh orange and apple. Gently sweetened w/agave. 16 oz containers (our soup-size containers) $10

 

You may also order containers of our Cashew Cheez Spread, which is great on crackers, sandwiches, etc.  4 oz or 8 oz containers. 4 oz $6./  8 oz $10

 

Black Bean Greek Olive Mushroom Walnut Tapenade, also excellent on crackers or veggies. This has been a favorite in my family since I started making it in the early ‘90’s; my sister requested it for her wedding reception in the late ‘90’s.  Our soup-size container $16.

Silken Tofu Pumpkin Pie w/organic spelt crust. 9-inch deep-dish $32. If you need GF, I can make an oat flour crust – which is not a shaped pastry crust.

There is no fat in the pumpkin filling; there is a small amount of coconut oil in the spelt crust (most fat is replaced out with rice milk and the agave sweetener).  The oat crust has no fat. Also Pumpkin Mini-pies (as I have each week at the farmers market) in spelt crust OR order with oat crust:  $6

 

Organic Apple Pie in organic spelt crust, lattice top.  9-inch deep-dish $35.  

 

Pear Cranberry Upside Down Cake is delicious and beautiful.  Made w/o any added fat, not too sweet.  10-inch    $30.

 

Pecan Pie:  organic spelt crust. 9-inch deep-dish  $35

GF Pecan Tarts:  These can be individual size (5”) as I have at the market $7.50 Also, 9-inch or 11-inch. Prices TBD

 

Pumpkin Pecan Uncheescake:  as in the photo; our tofu pumpkin uncheesecake decorated w/pecans around the top edge.  6-inch $30 (serves 6). 10-inch $40 (serves 10). Please note the top can “crack” as there is no added fat – it is not a “problem”.

 

Chocolate Pumpkin Uncheesecake.  GF, no added fat.  Silken tofu base for the chocolate mousse, which is spread on top of the (silken tofu-based) pumpkin uncheesecake.  6-inch $35 (serves 6)   10-inch $45 (serves 10)
