Menu for Sunday 5/7/23 Rillito Park Farmers Market

Dear Green Heart Friends,

This week I REALLY waffled on choosing entrees (desserts were easy :-), and finally decided to bring back the Baked Samosa Casserole that we haven't had for a YEAR.  (Scary how the time FLIES BY!). I did not get a good photo last year, and so I'm just using the original photo from the recipe, even though we don't make our Samosa Casserole round, but square.  It is a big serving, and we add garnet yams; it's not all russets.  Also we add roasted garbanzos.

You will pay for it when you pick up, not in advance.  Please have your order in by Thursday evening.

Mulligatawny Soup

A thick hearty soup of organic red lentils & organic

sweet potatoes, with roasted organic garbanzos.

Seasoned with fresh ginger & garlic & Indian spices.

(GF, SF, oil-free, no onions) $7.50


Frozen Soup:  Southwest Black Bean  $7; Broccoli White Bean $7; Mushroom Barley $7


Pasta e Fagioli

 Our pinto bean-based sausage helps flavor this hearty dish of cannellini beans & GF pasta  with Italian herbs & Kalamata olives. Definitely a meal. (GF, soy-free, oil-free)  $9

 Baked Samosa Casserole

Potatoes, spring peas, carrots, garbanzos with Indian spices, baked with a top crust (oat flour). A coconut yogurt raita on the side, as well as a fresh mint chutney. (GF, SF, nut-free. Small amount of coconut oil in crust) $12

Nicoise Salad

Our chickpea mock “tuna” on organic greens, with steamed red potatoes, green beans, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives.  Our Ranch dressing on the side (because that’s more fun than vinaigrette ;-) (GF, SF) $9.00



Chickpea Mock “Tuna”:  8 oz container, or on Dave’s Killer Bread.  This is  very low fat, as we make the “mayo” (tofu, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, Dijon, agave), and high in fiber and plant protein. $9. (filling is GF, oil-free)


Seitan Reuben:  house-made seitan corned “beef”, sauerkraut, house-made cashew cheez spread, with our Russian dressing, on organic sprouted rye. $11.

Healthy Desserts

Peanut Butter-Cream Cheez filled Chocolate Cupcakes (GF, no added oil) $5.

Meyer Lemon Blueberry Tart:  our lemon filling in our oat crust tart shell, topped with blueberry glaze & garnished with our vanilla frosting (GF, no added fat, no nuts) $7.50

Organic sprouted spelt crust Apple Hand Pie  (SF, nut-free)$7.50 each

Individual Mango Pineapple Uncheezcakes:  made in the containers we put the streusel pies in.  Oat flour crust, mango “body” w/fresh lime, topped with pineapple glaze (GF, no added fat, no nuts) $7.

Truffles: Coconut Overjoy Truffles (raw, grain-free) $2.50/each or 3/$6

Alaine’s Rainforest Cake (SF, GF, no oil) 1 lb. $22., slice $4.50


SAVORY Corn Muffin:  organic corn meal & oat flour, roasted corn, mild green chilis (GF, SF, no added fat, no nuts) $4.50

Fresh Pear Streusel Coffee Cake (GF, SF, no added oil) $5/slice

Chocolate Glazed Donuts, baked, topped with sprinkles (GF, SF, no added oil, no nuts) 4.50

Carrot Bread 10 oz, essentially our Carrot Cake w/o frosting:  carrots, pineapple, pecans, raisins (GF, no added oil) $7.50

*Samoa Cookies* dipped in chocolate; healthy version of the Girl Scout cookies 3 small cookies in container (SF, GF, no nuts) $4.50
